Retort pouch is made of multilayer films and metal foils. It allows the sterile packaging (temperatures above 100 °C) of a wide variaty of food and drink handled by aseptic processing, and is used as an alternative to traditional industrial canning methods. Some retort pouches are microwavable and can be boiled too.
Retort pouch advantages:

The finished product is able to be stored at room temperature and warmed up in the microwave oven. - Products packaged in retort pouches are ready for use immediately after opening the package. - Reduce sterilization time and improve productivity in products manufacturing process.
